Paul Kearney Ph.D., Founder and CEO

Dr. Paul Kearney is an experienced entrepreneur working at the intersection of data science, life science and commercialization. Trained in bioinformatics/mathematics at the University of Toronto, Paul honed his technical skills as a professor in the world-class Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo. From there he co-founded Bioinformatics Solutions and began his career in the biotech industry. Over the next 15 years Paul has 

  • Founded three companies and raised over $200M in funding.

  • Been awarded over a dozen patents and published over 75 peer-reviewed publications.

  • Discovered, developed and launched numerous clinical products in the areas of oncology, pregnancy and food allergy. 

  • Collaborated on numerous national and international projects both in for-profit and not-for-profit settings.

  • Been a principal architect of multiple pivotal studies including PANOPTIC, PREVENT and AVERT.

  • Has won numerous awards and is frequently an invited speaker at scientific conferences.

Paul’s passion is to work on challenging problems with highly diversified teams, utilizing his skills and experience in data science, technology and business.

Alex Porter, MD

Dr. Alex Porter has been been active in the clinical development and commercialization of novel devices and products in the both the healthcare and non-healthcare markets.  Most recently, Dr. Porter has been involved in developing and evaluating new technologies to aid clinicians in diagnosing and treating a number of disorders in oncology (lung cancer protein expression based diagnostic test), food allergen epitope mapping, women's health (hormone expression and management) and neurologic disorders (epilepsy and traumatic brain injury).  Dr. Porter's broad experience with medical devices, pharmaceutical R&D, regulatory approval and commercialization is a tremendous asset for accessing the viability of new products in both the direct to consumer and reimbursement markets.

Dr. Porter has a deep science and technology background in chemistry, physics and data analysis. Most recently he has utilized his skills to develop small wearable devices and monitoring apps to push the bounds of remote patient monitoring and patient engagement. 

Alex received his M.D. from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons and trained in general surgery and anesthesiology at the University of Washington.
